Cheapest Gas Stations on the Vancouver West Side

Live regular, diesel and premium prices at gas stations across Vancouver West Side, sorted cheapest first and updated every hour. Cheapest right now: 203¢/L at Petro-Canada.

The West Side — Kitsilano, Point Grey, Dunbar, Shaughnessy and Kerrisdale — is consistently the priciest part of Vancouver to buy gas. Station density is low, the land under each site is enormously valuable, and the neighbourhood demographics let retailers hold margins that stations on the East Side never could. The pumps along West 4th, West Broadway, Dunbar Street and West 41st serve their neighbourhoods well, but they rarely compete hard with each other on price.

That makes a price check before you fill more valuable here than almost anywhere else in the city: the spread between a West Side pump and the SE Marine Drive strip fifteen minutes away is regularly five to ten cents per litre. If you commute toward UBC, the handful of stations on the West 10th and Alma corridor are the last fuel before campus — there are no gas stations at UBC itself. The list below ranks every West Side station we track by current regular price, refreshed hourly; confirm at the pump before fuelling.

Communities covered: Kitsilano, West Point Grey, Dunbar-Southlands, Shaughnessy, Kerrisdale, Arbutus Ridge, MacKenzie Heights, Quilchena, Jericho, UBC & University Endowment Lands.

Gas in West Side: FAQ

Why is gas more expensive on the Vancouver West Side?

Few stations, very expensive land and little discount competition. West Side pumps price against each other rather than against the cheap strips in South and East Vancouver, so posted prices routinely sit at the top of the city range.

Where should West Side drivers fill up to save money?

If your driving takes you south or east anyway, the SE Marine Drive corridor in Marpole and the East Hastings strip typically run 5–10¢/L below West Side pumps. The ranked list above shows today’s exact spread so you can decide whether the detour pays.

Is there a gas station at UBC?

No — there are no public gas stations on the UBC campus or the Endowment Lands. The last pumps heading west are on the West 10th Avenue/Alma and West 4th corridors, so top up before you head out to Point Grey.
